Super pleased to make my first blog post about my acceptance into Georgia State University's Graduate Program!
I will be attending GSU to get my Master in Arts in Teaching, with a double concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies. This puts me one step closer to my dream of becoming a Middle School teacher. What's that? I'm crazy?! Middle School kids are the worst?! Yes, I've heard it all. I am completely aware that I've selected the least desirable age group to teach, and I couldn't be more excited about it.
However, as excited as I am about moving to Atlanta, I'm also incredibly nervous. I've never left my hometown. I went to undergraduate school 15 minutes from my childhood home. I know I'm ready, but the thought of leaving "The Old Dominion" is as terrifying as it is thrilling.
However, I deferred my acceptance into Georgia State until Fall 2015. So, I have about a year and a half left in Virginia. I plan to make the best of my time left here, and really live my life to the fullest before I have to go back to school. These next 17 months are going to be about me finding myself, seeing new places, meeting new people, accomplishing new goals, and just having a blast. And I plan to write about all of my experiences right here.
GO PANTHERS!!!!!
